Add option to only count incomplete tasks for current day, not all incomplete tasks

Would you consider adding an option to show only incomplete tasks for today as opposed to ALL incomplete tasks I have template notes which I create for each day, but I don’t always complete what I set out to do for the day and my task list grows rapidly I have a node script which I run on the first day of each month to close any tasks which are open for all previous months, but even at that, the counter increases quickly.
