All knowledge on one topic page

In a text, often multiple information types exist: ideas, business knowledge, personal data etc. How great would it be, if you can select blocks of texts/pictures and tag block-tag them. Practically it's then added to your overview document 'idea's' or 'Business Info' or every other topic you are gathering information for. This topic page then shows the complete full text of the the marked text blocks. I see many possibilities and I can also forget the original notes where the information is coming from. A backlink to the original note, would be great. If you like this too, please upvote!

Hi Eduard - from my end Im just looking for something like if I tag a heading with 10 items under it and when I search for the tag the heading and the 10 items under the heading should show up in the results without me having to tag each item seperately.

Would this be like the "synced lines" feature, but "synced blocks" (i.e. groups of multiple lines, not just individual lines)? FWIW, Notion calls this "synced blocks": https://www.notion.so/help/synced-blocks

Thanks for sharing this! Just to clarify: You tag something (like #important) and all the tagged paragraphs appear when you select this tag as it’s own page? But not like the current search results already do?

Eduard Metzger: As far as I know, when you tag a line - only the single line is shown when searching for the tag. I would like to tag e.g. this whole post, so multiple lines with paragraphs, line-breaks and images. When searching for the tag, then show the complete original text block. Can this be done already? I don't think so. It seems a small difference, but tagging today is limited to a single line until the line-break comes. A text-block-tag (select a larger text and tag it) will create many new possibilities.

Jomi: To clarify, you want to tag the full note or blocks of text, such as anything between two line breaks = 1 block (as per markdown)? In your original post it seems you want to tag blocks, here it seems you want to tag the full note.

Eduard Metzger: Hi Eduard, apart from the naming convention, I'd like to tag multiple lines of text including blanks and/or pictures. In reality it could look like: select multiple lines of text -> right click -> add #tag. The result of this on page #tag, would be the complete selected text, ideally a link to find the original note. In the current noteplan, only part of tagged text is showing when searching for the tag. Important that the marked/tagged texts, is show in full when searching for the tag. I hope it's clear with this extra feedback and hope it can be made :-)
