Annoying automatically closing brackets and quotation marks

The editor always adds closing brackets and quotes. This annoys me a lot because my muscle memory always does this manually. Please add an option to disable this. Or make it smart like in many IDEs: They detect if you're typing the closing counterpart and just skip the cursor and ignore the input.

Both type-over and a setting to turn it off in v3.10 added (released today).

I too like the feature. Please don't lose it as it makes wikilinking very smooth and efficient like obsidian. Perhaps as Hagen says it can be an option for those who don't want it to be disabled.

I like the feature but as Hagen points out it's not quite helpful enough yet not to cause friction.
