Just to elaborate a bit on why one might want this: When taking notes, you often come across ideas that seem important and/or that you may want to write a note about later. By creating unresolved links to those not-yet-existing-notes, you will be reminded of those concepts when typing a similar word in the future (but only if this feature request is implemented, of course). The advantage is that you can then create a link to the exact same not-yet-existing-note (and not a slightly differently worded version of the same idea) so that when you eventually write a note to elaborate that idea, it will already be linked to relevant other notes (which may even facilitate your writing of the note). As I think about it, I don't really see any point in creating links to non-existing notes unless these will show up in autocompletion.
Chris: I find this lacking in NotePlan as well and in my opinion is one of the fundamental features of these 'note linking apps'. I think this feature needs to be prioritized because the longer we go without it the more cleanup we will have on our hands when it's finally implemented.
Just want to add that this would be an essential feature for me, too, unlocking common workflows I would use in Roam, Obsidian, etc. where I’d mass-create links I want to reuse, sometimes long before creating a corresponding note.
