Better search and quick open
Summary: Suggest matching Daily notes first when searching, and show which one will open
Problem: Typing tod offers a full-text search across all notes for "tod". It does not suggest today's Daily note, which is what I usually want. It is also unclear which Daily note opens (the default one or one from a Space).
Why it matters: Opening today's note surely is one of the most common action. If search gets in the way, it adds friction to the main entry point of the product. The unclear Daily note (default or Space) also creates a risk of writing in the wrong place.
Proposal:
- Rank note titles and date keywords (today, tomorrow, yesterday) above full-text search
- Show a clear label on each Daily note result, such as "Daily" and "Daily · [Space name]"
- Keep "Search all notes for…" as the last option in the list
Done when:
- Typing tod shows today's Daily note as the first result
- Every Daily note result shows which Space it belongs to
- Pressing Enter on a result opens exactly the note shown
