Calendar and time sensitive notifications

I write my NotePlan notes on the mac, but what I always have on me is my iPhone. I have NotePlan on both. What I would like is, when a note has been written for the ongoing day, to be alerted by NotePlan (at an hour that could be defined in preferences) so that, even if my iPhone is in my pocket, I am alerted that there is something due for today. This would be very handy. I have enabled sound notifications for NotePlan on my iPhone, but I do not get any alert. Since I do not keep my eyes glued to the phone, a sound alert would nice to notify me of the note for today.

You could just set a reminder from within noteplan and ad a link to the note you want to be reminded about.
