NotePlan
NotePlan

What's the status of this request? Seems its gone dormant. This is one of the things holding me back from changing to NotePlan, having attachments sequestered in note specific folders rather than either in a centralized attachment folder or, like Obsidian, wherever I want them, linked to an imbed in a note (or multiple notes!)

I think one good solution might be to allow to link to images via ![[...]]. This works really well in Obsidian, integrates well with the rest of the app and allows everyone to organize their images as they please. See https://feedback.noteplan.co/general-feature-request/p/link-…

One more use case to elaborate: I often cut and paste an image link from one daily note to another. With a common media folder inside of Calendar folder, the link and path could be cut and pasted to any other daily note from any markdown editor without creating an orphan image and subfolder.

With a growing file system and many shared images (and hopefully other media types) across files, I have strong reasons for wanting to consolidate attachments into one user-specified sub folder, but for those who prefer an _attachments sub folder for each note, I wonder if this should be made optional in settings. Also important would be that NotePlan detects the setting, and uses it to update/create the relative path when pasting an image or other media.
