Choose different backup location

As per the title, it would be nice to be able to set the backup dir to be somewhere outside of the main NP3 dir One reason is to have the backups in a separate cloud service for redundancy Another is for users who point an app like Obsidian at their NP3 dir aren't seeing a lot of duplicated notes

Same issue here. My most frequent backup is a Dropbox folder, and my secondary one is Apple Time Machine. It would be useful to use Dropbox as a backup destination for Noteplan

I'm in the same situation, obsidian users need some extension of the current storage model to account for that. I use my obsidian as a thinking and project breakdown tool but and I use NotePlan for actionables and daily plan. Basically if it has a checkmark, it goes in NP3. I'd like to be able to share links and bullets so I could run my daily plan with NP3 but make my ideas in Obsidian.

You mean the backup function in the preferences? I think the problem is that we first need to solve a permission problem first. NotePlan can't just save anything outside it's "allowed" folder.
