Cleaner visual appearance for links when not editing

The visual appearance of links when editing can be cluttered. I want the option to have links show up as colored text which is differentiated but without the arrow out. Similar to how links appear on websites.

I see a problem here. If this were done, how would we know the difference between internal links to notes & external links? I think the arrow indicates external links in an economical way.

Chris Talbott I think it is less the arrow that bothers me and more so the brackets. Colored text with a small arrow would be an improvement. I think the thing that bothers me is that most markdown is hidden, but the markdown for links is exposed.

Christopher Wagner I see what you mean. If there’s a way to do it so we end up with colored text & an arrow to indicate external, I would be fine with that.
