Command-K: Place cursor correctly and detect clipboard url

If I highlight some text and then type command-k the text is replaced: `website` becomes `[website]()` But the cursor is not set into the parentheses. Additionally, I wonder if Noteplan could detect an address on the clipboard and insert it into the (). So that: `website` becomes `[website](https://coda.io/@noteplan/themes)` Other software does this (e.g., Drafts, Bear, IAWriter) and it saves me cutting/pasting time.

Another way of handling this (Slack, Jira) that is also helpful is that if you select text and paste a URL, it becomes a link.

Yes, this is one of the exact things that bugs me most. I noted a similar request here: https://noteplan.canny.io/markdown/p/command-k. Eduard Metzger, perhaps you can merge to bump up the votes? :) Also, hi, Dave Foy!

Stacey: Oops! I swear I searched for similar requests too! 🤦🏼‍♂️ Sorry. And hey Stacey 👋

Dave Foy: We were just talking about how difficult it is to find feature requests since there isn't a global search on Canny!

Stacey: That's very nice of you to say. I don't feel quite so bad now. 😁

Dave Foy: Merged!

This is exactly what I was thinking, I disabled the smart markdown links, since it doesn't work well with sites where auth is required, but both options listed here would be just perfect! As an alternative for the first one, highlighting a text and pressing "paste" to turn it into a link automatically when the clipboard only contains a URL could also be an option (slack does it this way as well)

This would be awesome! Even if the cursor could automatically go to right after the ( so I could just hit paste — I'd be really happy :) I use command-K very frequently.
