Create a daily note template automatically

Most of my daily notes begin with a particular format: I have a checklist of things I need to accomplish every day, and headings for types of tasks I know will come up each day. At the moment, I copy and paste this into each new daily note (I usually do it once for the week at the beginning of the week). It would be nice to be able to set up a template for new daily notes. Perhaps it could get populated at the start of the day or week if there’s not currently a note for that day.

The templating system is great. And the current workflow gets us so close to this as I envision it. To get this one across the finish line, I would love to be able to designate a specific template as the default daily note template so that whenever I open a new daily note it automatically uses that template.

Plugins are available now (https://help.noteplan.co/article/65-commandbar-plugins) There's a Templates plugin which gets you a lot of the way there. See this intro video from Stacy (https://youtu.be/jZYtU1qTE-w) showing how to set a keyboard shortcut to speed up the process of inserting a template into a note.

Daily note templates would be helpful. Note templates would be even better.

When the plugin framework arrives (real soon now) this will become possible. At least in a simpler fashion first, before being fully automated.
