Eduard Metzger a Sidebar Calendar view already exists in the week view, so why can't we simply have an option to disable the time-blocking feature and see in the sidebar this exact view that's showing the calendar events & reminders from the week selected in the mini-calendar? (once again, it's the same behavior as the week view)
I'll add to this since I don't want to make a new request and it seems it is basically the same thing: I love the iOS style view where Calendar events are displayed at the top of the note. I find this way clearer than the sidebar timeline. I wish for the option to have this implemented in desktop as well. Or should this be a separate request?
I want this so bad. I do not use the time-blocking, so in my case (and others apparently) this space is completely wasted. I prefer the NotePlan 2 events view in the sidebar. Like Things, like Craft, and so on... A textual view of calendar events and reminders
I vote for this idea as well. In my case I arrange my schedule in the evening for the next day, and I can't see the morning meetings without scrolling. I only have a few meetings scattered about the day so I have to scroll through a lot of white space to see them, and its easy to miss the early ones. I also can't see clearly in one view in the morning what I have meetings I have for the rest of the day
I vote heavily for this idea, a list would be a big quality of life improvement for me and maybe others who work with people in different timezones. I work with people around the world, so I often have meetings very early or late at night, like 7 AM and 10 PM. With the current hour-based view, I can't see my entire day on my 13" MacBook, even when NotePlan is maximized. I can only see about 12 hours. Because of this, when I start my work day by looking at NotePlan to orient myself for the day's tasks and meetings, I can't see all meetings I have for that day without scrolling. If I forget to scroll, sometimes I have forgotten I have meetings late at night or early in the morning. I love NotePlan, but for this reason I do use a third-party app that gives me a list of events and don't use NotePlan's calendar view that often. A list has a better chance of immediately see all upcoming meetings for the day, so it will help me get in the right frame of mind for the day I like Guillaume's idea of the list looking like the iOS app.
I like this, and it would avoid having large swaths of open time compressing many small events into a hard-to-read area.
Thanks for sharing, just to clarify, you means as a list view instead of a timeline?
Eduard Metzger: Yes. A List view of Daily Calendar Events rather than a timeline. (It would be extra nice if Noteplan remembered my preference for timeline or list and defaulted to that choice whenever opening the app on Mac)
Andrew Ford: Ok, got it, have clarified the title!
There is now an "event list" view option for the calendar
