Editable Note Preview Popup (for search results, backlinks...)
A floating editor above the current note lets you preview and edit a search/review results or a backlink directly with all the tools you know.
Debatable: It wouldn't open the full note, but only the reference you selected (or full note for a preview?).
It's similar to the "preview" popup on iOS when you long press on something, but editable and doesn't disappear so quickly.
Looking at the "jumping between notes issues", how about using this preview editor to open the full note when you click on a [[note link]] or a note in the sidebar?
What's the advantage? Then you don't need to jump, you open another note 'temporarily' to take something out and return to the original note.
Let me know your thoughts. See attached mockup. Originally drafted to show (1) that you click on a heading reference and then (2) it pops up the preview editor.

This would be brilliant! It could also solve the same sort of problem that folding text would (ie - a quick way to open up some extra detail on a task without losing context, but then closing it again to keep the list uncluttered). Sometimes turning a task into a related project note to store extra detail seems like overkill and a bit cumbersome. This would remove the friction.
