I see that Noteplan now supports export as an RTFD file. Can you also expand to support PDF, HTML as requested elsewhere?
Export is very crucial. Plain text is not that pleasing and Markdown even less. If you have themes, then the look of the used theme should be exportable. As for business use cases, you have to send texts to other people via email. A note taking app is of no use, if you have to start formatting again. PDF printing does work, but long titles will be cut off - with printing in general. And there are no page numbers or a headings with general note information (date, author). One also can not choose to print only sections of a note. If you use daily notes for a lot of different topics they have to be in one note file (as there is no other option if you want date and calendar association) and not all of those topics need to be shared.
Export in different formats and themes would be really great too.
Export means here as PDF? HTML? Because using File -> Print you can save your note as PDF. Can you elaborate?
Eduard Metzger: hi, File > Print will only convert one note to pdf. I need to convert all notes of a folder into one pdf and all daily notes in a month into one pdf. How can I do that?
Yes, please.
I agree. Also import (and export) of textbundle. I've seen comments suggesting export isn't necessary because of md and copy and paste - but depends on your use case. You could say the same of iA Writer but you can export to HTML, PDF, Word. If you're creating / writing in NotePlan it needs to be more than a repository.
it would be nice to have the option to export notes to your choice of PDF, HTML, or RTF and retain the markdown formatting, via email or a sharable link.
Mike Martin: You can use File -> Print and save as PDF.
Eduard Metzger This will not include Links :(
…or at least an easy way to get to the right place in the filesystem to see the note file.
Jon Plummer: ok I got the point, a menu option could be cherry on the cake :) in the meantime, on whatever note you are editing "..." > "Show in Finder" could help?
Jon Plummer: You can use the menubar "Note" and click on "Show in finder". In the next update also in the context menu of the sidebar.
I don't really see the point as Noteplan uses plain text files and folders to store the notes... software like Bear that uses an internal database needs such an export capability, but not Noteplan :)
Dntme17: Depends on your use case. You could say the same of iA Writer but you can export to HTML, PDF, Word. If you're creating / writing in NotePlan it needs to be more than a repository.

At the moment, exporting / copying & pasting parts of my notes to other applications (i.e., Slack, Google docs) and having a total mess in formatting, even with RTF, is one of the biggest struggles I'm having with Noteplan. A normal copy has all the markdown syntax, which is expected but it's incompatible for instance with Slack. And RTF has a similar problem, with bullet points pasted with a different bullet character.
