Yes, please!
+1 on this!
Having this and/or some way to manually order notes/folders (https://noteplan.canny.io/general-feature-request/p/filesfol…) would be great...pretty much the only thing from keeping me going full-time NotePlan!
Leaving my +1 here! That would be great! I currently have a "0 ⭐️ Starred" folder, but moving things around is not great.
Yes please! This is keeping me from moving from Obsidian as I have some notes (Inbox...) that I do not want to have to lookup in the folder hierarchy or search bar, I want quick access!
Bump! My way to cope is having "! Root" folder and the most important notes there... for now.
Good idea. Filters are also very powerful for this. Create a tag “#favorites” & you can then search for it or create a filter for it. (Filters are also at the top of the left sidebar, so can always be in view. You can also filter to include only notes or calendar items, by “last week” etc.
This post is from March 2021... 23 months ago. How long does it take to code a feature to pin notes to the sidebar? Jesus
Leo: Pretty long. You need to make sure you understand the problem at hand, check it against conflicts with existing and future features, make ui mockups, make implementation plan, change data model, implement ui in the sidebar, fix change sorting behaviour, design icons, test it on 3 platforms (mac, iOS, iPadOS), make sure it works with drag'n'drop, add keyboard shortcuts for pinning/unpinning, add same for folders, somehow add support for it for daily notes, week/month/quarter/year notes, release beta, fix all the bugs... not one day for sure :)
I tried to use filters as some alternative to pinned hashtag (because you can search by hashtag in your filter, and filters are at the top). Did you try that?
Yes please <3 - allow for custom sorting (Evernote does that, only in favorites, else it's asc or desc, see screenshots) - allow Filters to be saved as favorites too that would solve so many problems like having the Inbox & "Next" on Top (at least for me, but a couple of feature requests could be solved this way)
If you are like me and are anxiously awaiting "pinning" of notes and folders, have a look at this NotePlan plugin I wrote, which is not the same, but it's a step in the right direction! https://discord.com/channels/763107030223290449/776544995947…
I vote for being able to pin notes as well. I'm finding myself creating a ton of individual notes lately and I have a few that need to be referred to constantly, and many that do not. I'm thinking it would be similar to the Pin Note feature in macOS' built in Notes app.
Great!
I need this feature as well.
