Yes, 100%. I think I was able to make something work with an extension ("/qatn" or something like that) but it wasn't adequate to quickly capture a passing thought. As an example, I can quickly create a 'task' in TickTick on macOS by hitting Cmd+Shift+A. That brings up a Command Bar esque one line interface that supports natural language for due dates, folders, etc. While there, I can `tab` to the Description field that supports multi-line for the task details. I use it all day, every day. Being able to do the same for notes in NotePlan would change the game.
Yes, I agree. A frictionless approach to adding something to the today note on the desktop OS. This could also include: I select something on a web page or a local PDF and this would be pasted in the today note. See also the Mem Spotlight function. See https://get.mem.ai/ and https://macautomationtips.com/videos/mem-notebook/
I'd love this as well. I use the Quick Capture plugin commands extensively, mapped to keyboard shortcuts. But I have to switch to NP before I can issue them. I'd love to get past that.
Does CTRL+CMD+J do something you need here? Or whatever is in Preferences>Shortcuts
