#hashtags and @mentions as normal text (not links)

It would be great if we could right-click a hashtag and make it convert into normal text so it doesn't show up on the sidebar. For example I use NotePlan to store some Instagram captions as templates and a lot of them have up to 30 hashtags that I use all the time (I have maybe up to 100 hashtags combined...), but those are not hashtags that I would like to use as links inside NotePlan so a way to right click those and convert them to normal text would be great. The same for mentions. If I have a lot of instagram users as a list and I have them @username, maybe I don't want those to be seen as a mention on the sidebar

Possible by prefixing `\` for example.

If you put a \ in front of the # or @ then it will not be interpreted as a hashtag or mention, respectively. #hashtag \#notahashtag @mention \@notamention

What is the root problem that you're trying to fix? Is it really about the sidebar, and that that has become unmanageable for you? I ask because I long ago gave up using the sidebar for mentions and tags because I had I couldn't distinguish between important ones (e.g. particular @staff-names) and other ones that are there because I use a scheme to manage project dates (e.g. @start(...), @end(...), @reviewed(...)). How are you aiming to use the sidebar? It might be that a solution needs to be found around the sidebar alone, not necessarily the note?
