Completely agree, especially cmd-left, cmd-backspace, tab/untab (+100) and ctl-cmd- up/down. Would make Noteplan a much better outline tool!
x2 on the command+left in particular. I like to use shift+command+left to highlight before command-K to hyperlink & currently have to shift+command+left and then shift right arrow, right arrow so as not to select the task/bullet sign
I think these would add worthwhile polish. (Though I'll ask about the second one: is that what the Apple HIG says, or is delete-left-to-line-start?)
Jonathan Clark: I'm not sure about the Apple HIG, but the current behavior is: ``` * Cursor is here -> │ <- here is cursor ``` After cmd+backspace the NotePlan currently leaves me with this text: ``` │ <- here is cursor ``` But I would like the line to be emptied completely and the line-break to be deleted as well (like IDEs do).
Defake: This violates the HIG, and I would personally find this behavior jarring as it differs from the default behavior of all other text editing across macOS. overall a good set of suggestions above, but anything that changes the text editing experience I would be very cautious of, and if implemented at the very least put them behind an opt-in set of preferences.
CL: Do you need an apple text editor (then you already have one) or a powerful todo list that have all the actions on the tips of your fingers? I personally hate the default behavior of "all other text editing" and would like the editing to be improved to the level of programming IDE's since it increases writing/editing performance a lot. Though, most of the items in my post only apply to the tasks editing, not to the text editing, so the default behavior will not be changed, since they're not about writing. They are about organizing
Left Workflowy for NotePlan. Love WF, but NP is better. Would be amazing if some of the sub level (indented) behaviors evolved into NP.
