Inconsistent/unexplained sidebar/window size interaction

(macOS 12.1, NotePlan 3.3.1) When NotePlan first loads on MacOS, the default widow size is fairly small, but both sidebars are open. Dragging to change the window size immediately closes those sidebars, apparently because the window size is smaller than NotePlan would like to have those sidebars shown. But once the sidebars are opened again, resizing the window again keeps the sidebars open no matter the size of the resulting window. So in some cases, NotePlan auto-closes the sidebars, and in others it does not. This is inconsistent and annoying – maybe just remember if I had the sidebars open or not in the last session, launch that way, and don't auto-close the sidebars?

Thanks for mentioning this. Yes, this is the current behavior. If you close or open the sidebars, NotePlan stops changing them automatically. This is to avoid that the sidebars keep closing all the time when you work with a small window and need to resize. Remembering the last sessions is definitely a good way to solve this!

Eduard Metzger: A shorter-term alternative would be just to never change the sidebar state automatically. With the current behavior I might be happy with the sidebars, then resize the window a bit and have to "fix" everything.

Eduard Metzger: I'd love if NotePlan for macOS would remember the last session's size and position as well (if that position exists, of course). Every time I open NotePlan I have to futz with size, position, and sidebar visibility.
