(macOS) Adding >{ISOdate} to a task does not mark it as moved

Adding >{ISOdate} to a task does not mark it as moved, but rick-clicking, selecting "mark as moved", and selecting a date, adds >{ISOdate} and marks the task as moved. The result is essentially the same with the exception of the appearance of the task. Why?
