Move Task to Project Note

Some tasks don't need to be canceled, but do need to be deprioritized, put in a bucket. It'd be nice to send them there from wherever they appear. And vice-versa.

Jon Plummer: This is an essential feature of Bullet Journaling that's still missing in Noteplan. See also my posts in Reddit: [How to: Bullet Journal with Noteplan](https://www.reddit.com/r/noteplanapp/comments/m7cmqy/how_to_…) A good place for this feature would be the dialog that opens up when you select "Mark as Scheduled". There we can already choose from various task states, dates and repeat options. Why not add a note selector? Related: [Call schedule "schedule" again](https://noteplan.canny.io/task-management/p/wording-call-sch…), ["Mark as Scheduled" is missing an ellipsis](https://noteplan.canny.io/task-management/p/ui-bug-mark-as-s…)

Do you mean similar to the "move task" function which creates a copy between daily notes?

Eduard Metzger: That would be one way to do it, perhaps. If I write a task on a day and carry it forward a few times, and then decide I'm not going to do it any time soon but don't want to lose it, it'd be nice to >[[Someday]] or >#Someday or something like that and have it not be an open task on the day it came from any more.

Eduard Metzger: Critically, the "move task" puts an active copy of the task on a different daily note, and marks the original task as moved so it no longer shows up as open. The idea here is similar, but the task is moved to a note rather than a daily note.

Eduard Metzger Would very much like to see the ability to move a task to a daily note. The above example is perfect with regard to Someday, but there are other situations as well. I might have context notes such as [[waiting]]. While in a daily note, I might have a discussion with a subordinate and delegate something to them. I could create a follow-up and move it to a future date, but it makes more sense to move it to a [[delegated - darth Vader]] note and track it there. Having this ability let's me create the note under daily so I have a history when I look back, and move it to a non-dated structure.

Gary Learned: I'm a bit confused on this one. You want to move the task from a project note to a daily note? As in copy or cut & paste - move and mark it as moved with a link? Right now you can only add a date link in project notes as the default behavior. However, if you turn off "Only add date when scheduling in notes" in your todo preferences, then it will schedule by copy it even today without changing the code. Please have a look and let me know what you think!

Jon Plummer: Eduard Metzger yes exactly as suggested here. I also like capturing ideas for "someday" or "backlog" items as they emerge through the day. This way I only need to keep open the 'today' daily note and it acts as in inbox. At the end of the day or week I review all of them and *copy* the ones that need scheduling or those i don't want to lose track of, just like in bullet journalling. It would be great to move some of these tasks to a project note, rather than pushing them to another future date or daily note.
