Option to have embedded images appear as links instead of as images.

It would nice to have the option to have embedded images show as links (like PDFs) instead of images. This is useful when inserting images of documents that you don't want to unduly extend the length of a note. Thanks!

Hey, thanks for sharing this! This works if you drag an image, then you can select "link file" on Mac. But the image won't be copied and synced. Something like this but synced?

Eduard Metzger: I've been looking for exacly this. Even asked it on Reddit (https://www.reddit.com/r/noteplanapp/comments/w3gw37/attach_…) Obsidian embeds images using `![[filename]]` syntax. If you omit the `!` it becomes a simple link to the image. I'd love to be able to do it on NotePlan and have it sync the file.

Ekin Koc: hey, this should technically also work in NotePlan but you would have to remove the “!” Somehow. In Obsidian there’s an edit and read mode. Not sure how to implement this but a better way could be to add an option to the context menu for only linking with sync.
