Slow typing with large image attachments

After adding a large image to a note (eg 2048x2048) the ui slows down for 1fps and typing speed drops to 1 character per second. I have image resizing turned off. Can this be because NotePlan has to resize the image everytime for redraw or recalculate layout? Note length doesn't really matter. I have decent iPhone 12 Pro so it should be albo to handle it.

Should be improved now since the last release, do you feel a difference Marcin Ignac?

Eduard Metzger: It seems to be better. Adding full res iPhone photo still causes slowdown though. Actually adding photos is very slow but that might be iOS thing. No clue why Photo Picker is re-downloading photos from iCloud if i have 100GB free on my phone and i took the photo 1h ago.. It's so slow i can click multiple photos why waiting for picker to close resulting in many of them being added to the document. It's weird as adding photos is instant in e.g. Bear. Is NotePlan doing some work on image selection before the ios photo picker is closed? BTW I have actually 11 Pro not 12 Pro.

Marcin Ignac: Interesting, need to check if adding images has some bottleneck, just checked the typing part so far and unearthed some issues like the images were redrawing on every keystroke.

Same here. Attached iphone screenshot makes typing almost impossible.

It seems the image is constantly redrawn when you type. I have seen something similar, but not as heavy like this due to the resizing probably. Will check if there is away to like "freeze" the image, so it doesn't redraw.

Eduard Metzger: Any updates on this?

Nikita Repin: I have it in my backlog, but couldn’t get there yet. I have an idea, I think I can „freeze“ images. So they won‘t redraw, but need to try it. I‘m already freezing them to avoid slow transitions between the views. I hoped I can get it done for the next update, but as so often things take longer than expected with the new features.
