Toggle display of images

I have many many notes that has images and while they provide necessary illustrations for note, they often get in the way of note content (especially bad when editing on iOS) It would be awesome if there were the ability to toggle display of all images. A menu item on desktop (and iPad), and a button in toolbar on iOS would be awesome

This is a challenge for me also. A thumbnail view would be ideal.

One workaround I use in Obsidian with PDFs: drag the photo to the note to get an `![[image link]]`, displaying the image; then delete the `!` exclamation point and it becomes a regular link (showing text, opening the image when clicked). Add the `!` exclamation point back, and it displays the image again. Not sure if this is doable in iOS

Or perhaps a toggle between 'thumbnail' and 'full' mode? That way you still know the image is there (and not disappeared), but it remains small in that mode (unless you click on it?).
