Typing seems to be slow when a note is long

I have a note that's currently just short of 90k characters. When I type in this note nothing is missed but characters appear rather more slowly than I'm typing them, and I'm not a fast typist. Shorter notes don't exhibit this behavior.

This got improved in the last release Jon Plummer, is it better now?

Eduard Metzger: I had some input lag on a ~40k character file on Wednesday, but I don't know if that was before or after the update.

Jon Plummer: Might be before the update. Let me know if you still see lagging. There are still things I can improve but I think we covered the biggest bottlenecks.

Eduard Metzger: It's now far less common, but occasionally happens (and not as badly). Closing and reopening the note usually helps.

Same issue here. A large note (~5800 lines of plaintext using only body text and H1-H4 headers) takes ~2 seconds to load when I navigate to it. Noteplan 3.0.23 / macOS 11.2.3 / 2018 Mac Mini / 3.2GHz Intel i7 / 64GB RAM

I'm having the same issue on the desktop version when iphone screenshot (even resized one) is added to some of my notes: it's almost impossible to type anything. Others work better, but 2-3 screenshots (even compressed ones) significantly slow down any note.

Especially for rendered items. I once made a structured list of []() web links that got a little longer, and typing slowed so much it missed lttrs whl tping.

+1 for this In my case it seems to be related to both the size of the text and the time I edit it. maybe even more to the editing time. Many times in a big note I face issues of "fatigue" and if I close the note (or even the application) and open it again, then it goes much better ... (working mainly on ipad pro 11 2018)

Is it possible to share this note with me (through email)? I would like to try to reproduce it. You could cut out sensitive information or if not possible, I'll try to reproduce it, but I would also know what kind of content it has. And please share which system you use, iPhone, Mac, iPad (M1 or Intel)?

Eduard Metzger: Will do.
