If you want to connect notes and be a true PKM this is a must have feature. It's 50% of linking notes. I don't want to manually search all my notes to find references and link them. That could take forever. If Noteplan got this feature, it would be killer and put them above Craft since Craft doesn't seem interested in adding it.

IMHO, for a PKM system this feature is ESSENTIAL. The question is where the unlinked references will be displayed. I think that (1) they should be added beneath the linked references and (2) that the reference area should be moved either to the bottom or in a side panel of the note. I'm not so fond of the actual solution with the area on top because when I open a note I prefer looking at the text first. If you have many references the area gets long and unwieldy at the top.

How does the user define where it should be linked from? Apart from something fixed like 'a new field in the frontmatter', I'm not sure how this would actually happen.

I believe this is essential feature for a PKM system. I aslo think its not just the title that important to look for, its words within the text too.

A button should be showed beside le reference to link it easily.

Essential for Noteplan to become a serious PKM +1!
