Vim mode

I'm afraid this feature is too specific, but let's try! Navigating using VIM keys is incredibly efficient. A more complete implementation as we see in plugins for VS Code or Sublime would be fantastic, however, a "browse" mode as we see in Gmail or Remember The Milk would also streamline the routine a lot. Ex: CMD + ALT + V = Toggle Vim Mode Vim Mode On J = Next node of the note K = Previous node of the note / = Search on this note I = Disable Vim Mode ESC = Disable Vim Mode Tab = Select the next link R = Replace selection GT = Open today note GW = Open Week view Vim Mode Off Normal use Well.. Just some examples.

All for this, would be a great feature!

I sure do wish I could vote for this repeatedly. Would love it

Yes, yes, yes. However, there is a fantastic tool called `KindaVim` which gives system-wide Vim mode on MacOS. You can try it out to see how well it works. Assuming that Noteplan properly implements the MacOS Accessibility API, it should work well!

+1 for VIM keybindings, it would be a killer feature

+1! I think Neovim has a way of embedding that might be a solution here: https://neovim.io/doc/user/starting.html#cli-arguments (search for --embed)

I tried many different Note-taking apps and VIM mode is a killer feature for me... I am so used to it that I cannot work productively without it (and I am pretty sure every other VIM power-user feels the same) I would love to use Noteplan but without VIM mode I unfortunately can't... I hope this feature comes alive one day in Noteplan

This is probably the thing I miss the most with Noteplan: I'm so used to VIM mode everywhere that it feels strange to edit text without it. I'm currently using Inkdrop as my notes app and really like it, but Noteplan is something else! Please, give us VIM mode! ;)

Vim mode would be amazing! It makes editing so much faster. I'd love it if NotePlan integrated something similar to Obsidian with CodeMirror 6 and live preview. It's a big reason why I'll still need to use both apps instead of fully moving over to NotePlan.

would be cool! the hard thing here is that we than need the different modes in the editor (insert mode, visual mode, ...)

I recorded a video to demonstrate in practical terms how navigation with vim keys would be. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rwcGmLD7EnQ

Yes i use vim, but i know the learning curve is hight, but when you use it, there is no return. That said, if maybe it is very specific to noteplan but dreaming is free 😂

I came across this request multiple times, but I'm myself not familiar with VIM besides having to edit sometimes in the Terminal. It's scary :D But lets see how the votes go over time!

For vim lovers, this would be nice. As you have stated, may be "too specific" but it is good to have it on the board to see what other NotePlan users have to say.
